Khuzestan marks Eid al-Mab’ath with sweet taste
This year’s celebrations in Iran’s Khuzestan province marking Eid-al-Mab'ath, the day when God appointed Muhammad ibn Abdullah as the last prophet to mankind, is accompanied by good news of a record-breaking sugarcane harvest in Haft Tappeh.
The ceremony was held on Wednesday and attended by the CEO of Sugarcane Development Company, the Chairman of the Policy Council of Imams of Khuzestan Province, employees and a group of managers.
Addressing the gathering, Abdali Naseri, the Managing Director of Sugarcane Development & By-Product Company announced the harvesting of 7,500 tons of sugarcane at Haft Tappeh in a single day.
He said that this amount of sugarcane in Haft Tappeh has been harvested for the first time in the 60-year history of this sugar producing unit, adding that it provides the conditions to achieve maximum production.
Separately, the cultural affairs advisor to the CEO of Sugarcane Development and Related Industries highlighted the obstacle before the country for making achievements, including in the agricultural arena.
“With all the obstacles such as the imposed war, sanctions and constant disruptions by the enemies, the Iranian nation remained firm and showed their resilience against tyranny and arrogance”, he said.
According to this report, out of 7,500 tons of sugarcane harvested, 6,000 tons went to the company's factory for sugar production and 1,500 tons were sent to the Dehkhoda Sugarcane Agro-Industry Company. / IRNA
