EghtesadOnline: The western Iranian province of Kermanshah exported $1.63 billion worth of non-oil goods during the seven months of the current year (March 21-Oct. 22) to register a 47% rise over last year’s similar period.

Kermanshah borders Iraq to its west and mainly exports goods to this neighboring country.

Governor General of Kermanshah Province Houshang Bazvand said the significant growth in non-oil exports comes as the average rise in the country’s non-oil exports was at 13.5% during the period, IRNA reported.

Bazvand was earlier quoted as saying that the western Iranian province attracted $43 million worth of foreign investments during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), Financial Tribune reported.

"Imports into Kermanshah stood at $15 million over the same seven months, indicating a 39% rise year-on-year," Khalil Heydari, the director of Kermanshah Customs Directorate, said.
