Iranian foreign minister meets Nasrallah in Beirut

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and held talks with Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mojataba Amani and the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani were also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides conferred on the latest political developments in the region and Lebanon.

Amir-Abdollahian also informed Nasrallah of his recent negotiations with Saudi officials and said that he assesses the talks as positive.

Referring to his talks with the Syrian president and other Syrian officials in recent days, the top Iranian diplomat cited that in the current situation, when Syria's relations with other Arab states are returning back to normal, foreign movements in activating terrorists in Syria are in line with the goals of the enemies and the Zionist regime against Damascus and the security of the region.

Nasrallah, for his part, said that currently the Resistance in Lebanon and Palestine is in the strongest position, and if the Zionists act based on miscalculation, they will face a regrettable reaction.

The Hezbollah chief also praised the unforgettable role of martyr Soleimani in fighting terrorism and contributing to regional security.

On Thursday, the top Iranian diplomat held a meeting with the leaders of the Palestinian resistance movements of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in the Lebanese capital of Beirut.

Amir-Abdollahian arrived in the Lebanese capital on Thursday afternoon. Upon his arrival at Beirut airport, the top Iranian diplomat told reporters that Iran would continue its support for Lebanon.
