EghtesadOnline: Vice-President and head of Department of Environment Ma'soumeh Ebtekar urged special attention to the health condition of a devoted soldier who lost a leg while saving a dog.

In a phone conversation with Mohammad Baakhtar on Sunday, Ebtekar expressed sympathy with the young soldier and hoped he would recover soon.

Baakhtar lost his right leg when he stepped on a land mine while he was trying to rescue a dog stuck in barbed wires surrounding a complex barracks in northwestern Iran, according to IRNA.

Iranian soldier's devotion went viral quickly and about 150 environmental advocates from Tabriz province visited him in the hospital.
