Seafood Exports Earn $120m
EghtesadOnline: About 39,000 tons of seafood products worth $121 million were exported from Iran during the five months to Aug. 22, registering a 28% increase in value compared with the corresponding period of last year, the director general of Seafood Quality Improvement, Processing and Export Expansion Office with Iran’s Fisheries Organization said.
Isa Golshahi added that at present 142 seafood processing units and 140 units producing seafood conserves are active in the country, Mehr News Agency reported.
Per capita seafood production and consumption in Iran amount to 13 kilograms and 10.6 kilograms respectively, Financial Tribune reported.
