“This registers an increase of over 244,000 tons compared with last year’s corresponding period,” the head of the board of directors of Cement Employers Association Company said.
Mohammad Atabak added that production in the Iranian month ending Aug. 22 stood at 5.17 million tons to register a 0.12% growth year-on-year, IRNA reported.
Clinker production witnessed a 2.7% YOY increase to 26.09 million tons. However, production during the month ending Aug. 22 saw a 2.6% decline YOY to reach 3.95 million tons, Financial Tribune reported.
Iran exported 12.13 million tons of cement and clinker in the last fiscal year (March 2017-18), down 6.93% compared with the year before.
Cement accounted for 6.08 million tons (down 16.7% YOY), while clinker accounted for 6.05 million tons (up 5.7% YOY) of the total.
