Iran’s Road Transit Up 78% in 2-Month Period: Deputy Roads Minister

Iran’s deputy minister of roads and urban development said that inbound and outbound transit in the country registered a 78 percent growth in the past two months of the current Iranian calendar year (April-May).

EghtesadOnline: Dariush Amani made the remarks during his visit to Pilesavar Border Terminal, adding that increasing the volume of transit and exchanges of goods at borders with the neighboring states is one of the main objectives of the ministry.

The head of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization termed the key role of Pilehsavar Border Terminal in the economic and trade growth of the country ‘very important’ and added that the transit of goods at Pilehsavar Border Terminal registered a 24 percent growth from April to May 2024, compared to the same period last year.

He put the growth of road transit in the country last year (ended March 19, 2024) at 58 percent. / Tasnim
