Stationery Imports Hit $9m in 5 Months
EghtesadOnline: A total of 1,330 tons of stationery products worth $9.51 million were imported into Iran during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22).
Importers of stationery raw materials are entitled to foreign currency at government subsidized rates, ILNA reported.
According to Mousa Farzanian, the head of Stationery and Engineering Equipment Sellers Union, the share of domestic manufacturers in the production capacity of stationery products has increased from 20-40% over the past two years, Financial Tribune reported.
“Domestic producers can only make 50 million notebooks of the 140 million needed during the new school year that starts on Sept. 23,” Farzanian told Mehr News Agency.
