Australia universities resume academic ties with Iran

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Envoy to Australia Abdol-Hossein Vahaji said that a number of universities in Australia have resumed scientific and academic cooperation with Iran since last year, and are planning dispatch of delegations to Iran in near future.

According to ISNA, he visited Melbourne, Deakin, Monash and La Trobe universities in Melbourne to investigate ways for boosting bilateral and academic ties between Iran and Australia.

The officials of the universities introduced different departments and outlined a report on their academic position in international ranking.

They also presented a report on the history of cooperation with Iranian students and situation of the students working in the universities.

Abdol-Hossein Vahaji, for his part, said Iranian embassy is ready to expand scientific, academic and educational cooperation between Iranian and Australian universities.

The consular delegation of Iranian embassy visited Melbourne and provided consular services for Iranian nationals unable to trabel to Canberra due to the long distance.
