Iran to start gas export to Iraq

EghtesadOnline: Director of National Gas Company of Iran for International Affairs Azizollah Ramezani said that the country will begin its gas export to Iraq during the 5th month of Iranian calendar month (July 22- August 21).

Iran respectively exported and received 2.5 and 1.9 billion cubic meters of gas during the first four months of the Iranian year (from March 21 to July 21), he said.

"As the trade balance was positive Iran may start gas exports to neighboring Iraq during this month," he added.

According to ISNA, he said 68 to 80 billion cubic meters of gas produced in Iran is dedicated for export, adding that 50 to 60 billion cubic meters of the volume will be exported to neighboring countries.

"At the moment, 10 countries among 15 neighbors of Iran have the capacity to receive our gas. Pumping gas to China, India, Japan and South Korea is on our agenda," he insisted.
