Nahavandian made the remarks in a visit to the Islamic Republic News Agency on the occasion of National Reporter's Day.
According to IRNA, Nahavandian said that the government is working to promote moderation and prudence among people of the country from all walks of life.
Nahavandian said that President Rouhani is used to respond to the bitter criticism with a calm and peaceful tone.
Nahavandian told a group of reporters of IRNA that the media should exercise moderation in their mission because extremism bears nothing but extremism.
