Vaezi: Foreign investment rise indicates Iranian economic growth

EghtesadOnline: Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said on Monday that rise of foreign investment indicated the eye-catching trend of Iranian economic growth in 2016.

According to IRNA, the minister made the remarks in a meeting with Supreme Leader's Representative and Friday prayers leader of Isfahan Ayatollah Yousef Tabatabaeinejad.

Vaezi said that iran accomplished resumption of ties with about two to three thousand foreign banks and the remaining problems with some western banks will be resolved gradually. 

He expressed concern about unemployment, saying that the government is working hard to remove financial difficulty of the manufacturing sector and the industrial, agricultural units to create jobs.

He said that the investors should be given assurances to bring their capitals to the manufacturing sector. 

Government is to spare no efforts to remove all obstacles, said the minister. 

On the nuclear deal, he said that Iran successfully lifted many sanctions such as insurance and shipping. 

The government is to maintain the country's security as tranquility and stability are vital perquisite to bring economic growth, Vaezei said. 

Regulating the economic development and enhancing level of cooperation with the outside world mainly with the neighboring states are on the agenda of the government, he said. 

The country's inflation has fallen to 9.6 percent which is a remarkable figure, he said. 

Eight percent growth in industry and 21 percent growth in the country's non-oil exports and seven percent decrease in imports are good sign of positive growth, he said.
