Iran envoy urges full use of Tehran-Moscow trade potential

EghtesadOnline: Iranian and Russian private and business sectors should seize the chance provided by the ideal ties between Moscow and Tehran to engage more with each other, says Iran's envoy to the Russian capital.

Mehdi Sanai, in a message on Tuesday to a conference in Tehran on Iran's sustainable presence in the Russian market, urged Iranian and Russian business and private sectors to exploit in the best way possible the atmosphere provided by the good level of relations between Tehran and Kremlin, reports IRNA.

The conference on Iran's sustainable presence in the Russian market has been held at a time the Islamic Republic and Russia are increasingly developing their ties, Sanai said.

'Eight rounds of presidential meetings between the two countries show the importance Ian and Russia attach to developing their mutual ties,' Iran's ambassador to Moscow said.

And by holding such conferences, the two nations are going to again indicate how they are busily looking for exploiting all the potential they have to develop trade ties, he said.

'The present engagement between Iran and Russia is going to provide Iranian businessmen interested in doing business in Russia, with a better understanding about the future of mutual ties between the two nations and it is going to promise them a brighter horizon,' he said.

Sanai also named lack of familiarity in Iran and Russia about the two countries business potential and opportunities and trade regulations as well as banking and financial problems as important hurdles on the way of the two nations to establish all-out trade ties.

The engagement of big companies, long-term planning, competitivity of Iranian commodities and a growing logistic sector are vital to Iran's sustainable presence in the Russian market, Iran's envoy said.
