Iran, France parliament speakers stress boosting bilateral ties

EghtesadOnline: Iran and France expressed the hope that bilateral ties between the two sides would be expanded further.

President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone is in Tehran to discuss issues of mutual interests as well as key regional and international matters with senior Iranian officials, reports ISNA.

“I think that Mr. Bartolone’s visit to Iran would be a milestone in bilateral parliamentary ties between the two sides,” said Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in a press conference with his French counterpart.

He said that the two sides discussed boosting bilateral ties as well as regional crises and terrorism as well as solutions to crises in the Middle Eastern states, including Iraq and Syria as they met in Tehran.

Bartolone is visiting Iran along with head of France-Iran parliamentary friendship group and some members of French defense and foreign policy commission.

He postponed his visit to Iran already schedule for July 15 due to terrorist attack in the French city of Nice.

He said that exchanging delegations by Tehran and France helps them boost bilateral ties and implement the JCPOA completely and remove barriers, including economic barriers.
