Iran, China cooperation opportunities explored in Shanghai

EghtesadOnline: The first meeting of exploring and introducing Iran and China cooperation opportunities was held in Shanghai in line with plans and projects of reviving new Silk Road.

In the one-day meeting which was sponsored by Iran Trade Promotion Organization, Iranian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and Iran's Consulate General in the city, a large number of industrialists including more than 200 representatives of Iranian and Chinese companies were present.

According to IRNA, the speakers expounded on business opportunities and bilateral trade and economic cooperation and the ways of participation in the projects related to the new Silk Road.

Addressing the participants, Iran's Consul General in Shanghai Alireza Irvash said the meeting was a complementary to the 16th meeting of Iran China Joint Commission which was held in Beijing last month. 

Irvash said while Iran had to have relations with few countries including China during the sanctions, now it has freely chosen China as its strategic trade partner. 

He also referred to Chinese President Xi Jinping's last year trip to Iran and said signing 17 cooperation documents and one comprehensive document of strategic cooperation is a clear evidence of continuation and development of bilateral relations.
