President Rouhani arrives in Venezuela to attend NAM Summit

EghtesadOnline: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Venezuela to attend the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) slated for September 17-18.

President Rouhani was welcomed by Venezuela’s Vice President upon his arrival in Margarita Island, reports ILNA.

President Rouhani is slated to hand over NAM presidency for a period of four years to his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro during the upcoming of the alliance.

The 17th NAM Summit is slated for September 17-18 in Venezuela’s Margarita Island.

President Hassan Rouhani will brief the audience on Iran’s 4-year performance as head of 16th tenure of NAM.

Iran had the rotating presidency of NAM during 2012 to 2016.

Iranian Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Namatzadeh as head of Joint Iran-Venezuela Economic Commission and Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi as Head of Joint Iran-Cuba Economic Commission as well as Vice President for Science and Technology are accompanying Rouhani in his visit to Venezuela.
