1st Thai passenger plane lands on Imam Khomeini Int'l Airport

EghtesadOnline: The first flight of Thai Airways International landed on Imam Khomeini International Airport on Saturday at 19:00 local time to be the 56th foreign airliner using Tehran's newly established airport.

Regional Director of Thai Airways International Prin Yooprasert in the opening ceremony said that a Thai Boeing 777-200 flew from Bangkok to Tehran on Saturday and used the Imam Khomeini International Airport, reports IRNA.

According to Yooprasert the airline company will have four flights weekly from the Thai capital to Tehran using this route.

'We hope to operate the flights on a daily basis, he said.
He said that establishment of this flights will be the beginning of development of economic cooperation between Iran and Thailand.
Yooprasert announced that Thai Airways International owns 94 planes, which flies to 80 international destinations.

The company founded in 1960.

Presently, Iran's Mahan Airline Company operates six flights each week via the same route.
