Tehran, Hanoi sign MoU for visa lifting, IT cooperation

EghtesadOnline: Iran and Vietnam on Thursday signed two documents for bilateral cooperation in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Vietnamese President Trần Đại Quang.

The first document was signed by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and his Vietnamese counterpart Phạm Bình Minh.

The agreement calls for lifting visa issuance for special and servicing purposes as holders of such passports will have no problem with visiting in either country, reports IRNA.

The second cooperation agreement was signed by Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Minh Tuan, calling for mutual cooperation in IT and communications.

President Rouhani arrived in Vietnam on October 5 heading a high-ranking delegation for a three-day visit.

This is the first leg of his three-nation tour which will later take him to Malaysia and Thailand respectively.
