Iran automaker “IKCO” named top exporter

EghtesadOnline: Iran's largest auto manufacturer, Iran Khodro Company (IKCO), has topped the list of Iran’s leading exporters with achieving a 100-percent growth in export last year.

During a ceremony held on the occasion of National Export Day in the Iranian calendar, attended by Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, the names of Iranian leading exporters were unveiled.

With exporting over 10,000 vehicles in the last Iranian year i.e. March 20, 2015 to March 20, 2016, Iran Khodro managed to achieve a 100 percent growth compared with its previous year.

The largest car manufacturer in the Middle East is set to export 20,000 vehicles during the current year, according to ISNA.

Iraq, Syria, Turkmenistan and Armenia have been among the main markets of Iran Khodro over the past few years. Expanding its markets to Central Asian countries including Kirgizstan and Azerbaijan as well as Central and North African countries are the main goals of this car company in the next few years.

To this end, Iran Khodro exported over 300 units of Dena to Algeria to restore its markets in North Africa.
