Good conditions for imports, exports in Iran: Industry minister

EghtesadOnline: Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh has said there are good conditions in Iran to promote imports and exports activities.

Nematzadeh made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Belgian Minister-President of Flanders Geert Bourgeois.

The post-Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) era has created the proper conditions for development in Iran, Nematzadeh said.

He added the two countries should focus on the long-term strategic cooperation, stressing the Iranian producers and industrialists are ready to make use of the technical capabilities of the Belgian companies, according to IRNA.

He further said the two countries should also concentrate on removing the obstacles to their trade exchange and developing banking cooperation to facilitate activities of their tradespersons.

For his part, Bourgeois said that 140 trade officials from the Belgian companies have accompanied him during the Tehran visit which is an indication of Belgium's willingness to widen ties with Iran in different areas.

Brussels, he said, attaches great importance to improving inter-banking relations as one of the Belgian banks has started cooperation with the Iranian banks.

In the meeting, the two also reviewed different ways to develop bilateral cooperation.
