According to local media, Iran will start direct export of hand-woven carpets to the United States from next year. Iran previously shipped the valuable product to the country through Germany, but now it plans to start the direct shipment of the cargo.
Since the Joint Comprehensive plan of Action and the removal of sanctions in January, Iran has exported more than 1000 tons at value of almost $40 million to the US through Germany, ISNA reports.
Head of Iran National Carpet Center Hamid Kargar had said earlier that the country has exported $134 million worth of handmade carpets to 80 countries in the first eight months of the current year.
The reports suggest that a significant growth has been recorded at the beginning of the new Iranian calendar year, which proves a flourishing future for the country’s economy.
