Zarif stated that there are some effective elements in the world of Islam, and that they must have been provided with the required opportunities to act beneficially to the benefit of all Muslims.
Zarif made the remarks addressing the International Conference on Geopolitical Crises in the Islamic World on Monday. He referred to the challenges Muslims face today and said Zionist regime of Israel is the main challenge to the Islamic countries, according to ISNA.
He underscored that Iran is an influential actor at the international scene, adding that geography of the Islamic world is global because the Islamic world is present at every corner of the world and this can be both a challenge and an opportunity.
“In a current phase of transition in international relations, challenges and opportunities are changing in a constant state, “Zarif underlined.
The two-day conference, which is supported by the Institute of Islamic World Futures Studies (IIWFS), kicked off today in Tehran at Shahid Beheshti University in presence of Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Scientists and researchers from Germany, France, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Yemen will attend the conference to discuss different issues concerning the current regional crisis including typological study of the crises, and also the roots of geopolitical crises in the Islamic world.
