Iran, Brazil study expansion of economic cooperation

EghtesadOnline: Iran's Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Ali Tayebnia conferred on Thursday with Brazilin Minister of Industry and Commerce Marcos Pereira on expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Tayebnia is currently in Brazil to attend the 14th Iran-Brazil Joint Investment Economic Commission meeting held on Nov 17-18 in Brasilia. 

In the meeting, Tayebnia said Tehran attaches importance to expansion of commercial cooperation with the South American countries mainly in the fields of agriculture and industries.

According to IRNA, he underlined that Brazil enjoys high potentials in agriculture and animal products.

Iran have various potentials in exports of gas, oil derivatives, petrochemicals and handicrafts which can help enhance level of economic cooperation between the two countries, he said. 
Referring to high potentialities in investment opportunities in Iran, Tayebnia said there is no obstacle on the way of expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and the world countries.

He also called for immediate implementation of the previous agreements between the two sides on removal of customs tariff and facilitating banking transactions between the two capitals.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian minister expressed hope to witness a growth in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

He also hoped that a number of MoU's on expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Brazil would be inked in the future.
