Speaking in a meeting with the President of Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey Mehmet Gormez on Friday, Taherian Fard said that Iran has always backed territorial integrity and integration of countries and spared no efforts to help safeguard stability and security of the region, IRNA reported.
'Iran favors development of the Islamic world and its neighboring countries and on the basis of this belief the Islamic Republic of Iran has stood by its Muslim brothers in
Iraq and Syria by presenting consultations and exchange experiences with them on fighting terrorism', he emphasized.
Görmez termed extremism as a historical chronic disease, saying that expansion of extremism has prepared the ground for insecurity and violence to grow.
He voiced hope for enhanced regional security within the frame work of constructive cooperation among Muslim countries.
During the meeting, Taherian Fard negotiated on developing bilateral and regional cooperation between Iran and Turkey.
