Ambassador underlines need for promoting dialogue, peace in world

EghtesadOnline: Iran's Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur Marziyeh Afkham underlined the need for further endeavors in cultural arena to promote peace and dialogue across the world.

She made the remarks here on Tuesday while addressing the opening ceremony of Iran's Cultural Days in Malaysia.

The ceremony was attended by lovers of Iran's rich cultural and a number of Malaysian officials including Director of the Malaysia National Library Nafisah Ahmad, a number of ambassadors and foreign diplomats residing in this country and artists, IRNA reported.

People who are enthusiastic about the Iranian art and culture also took part in this three-day cultural event.

At the ceremony, Afkham said the world is in need of dialogue and peace.

She stressed that culture and cultural activities can create a better ground for the countries to get familiar with each other in order to solve their common problems.

About Tehran-Kuala Lumpur ties, she noted that the two nations can well widen relations in different areas as both have got good information about each other's cultures and histories. 

She further described culture as the most important element determining relations among nations and governments.

For her part, Director of the Malaysia National Library said the present cultural event can be a point of departure for strengthening of cooperation between Iran and Malaysia.
