According to Foreign Ministry Media Department, the two foreign ministers also talked about humanitarian aids, fight against terrorist groups and proposed political initiatives for peace talks in Syria.
Walid al-Moallem arrived in Tehran on the head of high ranking delegation on Saturday early afternoon and immediately began consultations with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, according to IRNA.
He is scheduled to meet with a number of other senior officials of Iran on humanitarian grounds.
This is the third round of talks between the two foreign ministers held privately.
