Farhadi's ‘The Salesman’ wins US National Society of Film Critics' award

EghtesadOnline: Oscar-winning Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi snatched the Best Foreign-Language Film award from the US National Society of Film Critics for his latest drama ‘The Salesman’, it was reported on Friday evening.

Daughter of American playwright Arthur Miller, Rebecca Miller, presented the award to Farhadi during a ceremony held in New York.

Meanwhile, Farhadi’s drama “The Salesman” also has received a nomination in the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, according to IRNA.

‘The Salesman’ narrates the story of a young couple who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.

Farhdi's most well-known film, ‘A Separation’, won global recognition as becoming the first Iranian movie to win an Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
