No agreement to invite US to Astana talks

EghtesadOnline: There is no agreement between Iran, Russia and Turkey to invite US to upcoming Syrian peace summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, a source close to Iran’s foreign ministry said.

The recent news reportedly indicated Iran, Russia and Turkey agreed to invite US to Astana meeting.

Turkish Foreign Minister MevlutCavusoglusaid on Saturday that Turkey, Russia and Iran have agreed to invite the US to the talks which are set to promote a political solution in war-torn Syria, ISNA reported.

“Officials from Turkey, Russia, and Iran met in Moscow Friday in preparation for the summit. We have agreed to invite the US to the talks. We will invite them. The US will be in Astana. We do not deny the contribution and role of the US," Cavusoglu said.

The source denied the reports, said: “there is no such an agreement”.
