“The Salesman” actor reacts to Trump’s travel ban

EghtesadOnline: In the wake of US President’s actions, the actor of “The salesman” directed by AsgharFarhadi proposed Hollywood filmmakers to put the making of a movie about the king of Shinar Nimrod in their agenda.

“It is unfortunate that the world is placed in a conflicting process of science and technology progress and regression of human culture. All around the world we have seen that leaders are guiding the world into the darkness of ignorance instead of the light of consciousness,” the actor of “The salesman” Shahab Hosseini wrote on his Instagram. “They advance discord, hatred, division and racism among human societies under any excuse.”

“But nations, unlike their readers move toward freedom and unity. They show a great demonstration that affects everyone except tyrants. The executive order that recently signed by US President Donald Trump remembers the black era in the late 1930s and 1940s and the rise of Adolf Hitler which had disastrous consequences that will not be erased from world’s memory,” ISNA quoted him as saying.

“The fate of all tyrants and criminals of history is like a mirror against human beings especially Trump and his supporters to learn about the past. As an actor and director I propose Hollywood filmmakers to put the making of a movie about the king of Shinar Nimrod in their agenda, the king that claimed he is Lord of the world but died because of a mosquito,” Hosseini insisted.

Shahab Hosseini’s reaction came after Taraneh Alidoosti, the other star of “The Salesman,” and AsgharFarhadi announced that they would be boycotting the Oscars in protest of US President Donald Trump’s executive order which banned the nationals of seven Muslim-majority from entering the United State.
