World needs dialogue, compassion: Zarif

EghtesadOnline: Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a Tweet on Friday called on world leaders to promote dialogue and compassion in the world.

“World needs leaders who urge dialogue and compassion not walls and exclusion,” Zarif wrote.

According to IRNA, he also appreciated stance assumed by Catholic leader Pope Francis who has strongly criticized atrocities, committed against Myanmar Rohingya Muslims, defending their rights to ‘live their faith’.

Iran’s top diplomat in another Tweet message referred to the massive public turnout in the Revolution Day Rallies across Iran, describing them as a response to Washington’s threats against the Islamic Republic.

“On Revolution Day, Iranian turn out in huge numbers to defy threats and insults by US government,” he wrote.

Zarif also offered his praise for the American people for rejecting the ban on Muslims.

Pope Francis amid a global uproar over the US president Donald Trump’s attempts to impose a travel ban on seven Muslim-majority nations, has called on people to build bridges and not walls.
