90% of Iran Foreign Ministry Interaction Focused on Economy

EghtesadOnline: More than 90% of the Foreign Ministry's negotiations are focused on promoting economic cooperation and expanding export markets, particularly in Central Asia, West Asia, Africa and Latin America, a deputy foreign minister said.

Stressing that economic diplomacy is the main priority of President Hassan Rouhani's government, Morteza Sarmadi added that over the past year and a half, different economic delegations have accompanied Foreign Minister Mohamamd Javad Zarif in his visits to other countries.

Economic diplomacy uses the full spectrum of economic tools of the country to safeguard national interests. Economic diplomacy includes all economic activities, including but not limited to export, import, investment, lending and free trade agreements, Financial Tribune reported.
