“The dear people of Iran should know that their presence in different arenas remains to be decisive, it remains to be decisive in guaranteeing national security,” Ayatollah Khamenei said on Sunday addressing a group of visiting Iranian workers on the eve of International Workers' Day (May 1).
The Leader said that with people maintaining their presence on the scene, the country will have security, IRNA reported.
“This is the presence of people on the scene stopping the shameless and bullying enemy to take a violent action,” he said.
“They are scared of the people,” the Leader added.
The enemies are truly afraid of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei said
This is not my personal view, this is a documented, indisputable fact, he said.
“When the people are present on the scene, the enemies, looking for confronting with the establishment, will have no way but to retreat and forget about their aggression,” the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.
Ayatollah Khamenei then warned against separation between people and the establishment.
“When there is a rift between people and the establishment and people choose not to maintain their presence on the scene, the enemy will feel free to achieve its ends,” he said.
Referring to the upcoming Presidential and Islamic City and Village Councils elections, due to be held on May 19, the Leader said one of manifestations of the people on a national scale is participation in the polls.
“I never say who you should vote for or who should not, but I urge you to attend the polling stations and vote for anybody you deem as eligible,” he said.
“Everybody who loves the country, the establishment and security participate in the elections,” he added.
The decisive presence of people is going to avert the enemy, he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei also described workers as backbone of economy and production and called for addressing their problems.
“In order for us to have an independent and developed economy and embrace economic prosperity, we should pay much attention to our workers,” he said.
“And in order to provide our workers with the rights they deserve, we should promote national production,” the Leader added.
