Iran cautions Islamic countries on US divisive plots

EghtesadOnline: Making division among Muslim countries were among US strategic goals focused on creating fabricated threats to plunder the capitals of regional countries, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi insisted.

He made the remarks in reaction to the anti-Iran remarks made by US Secretary of Defense James Mattis, ISNA reported.

He rejected US defense secretary claim on Iran’s plot for the assassination of an Arab envoy in Washington and said: “ years after the event, the world public opinion is now quite familiar with this scenario of the US and Saudi officials”.

“Iran is heedless of these baseless claims,” Ghasemi noted.

He referred to US President Donald Trump recent trip to Riyadh and said: “that the US defense secretary is responding to extravagant hospitality of his Saudi host”.

“The dollar-based US policy and manipulation of terrorism by the country is the source of instability and insecurity in the world, in particular the Middle East,” the spokesman noted.

He expressed sorrow for the US officials and said: “the extension of such behaviors will taint the prospect of international community fight against terrorism phenomena and will even darken the future vision”.

“The US has longstanding record of such accusations against independent states,” Ghasemi added.
