Armenia keen on energy cooperation with Iran, Georgia, Russia

EghtesadOnline: Armenia is ready to maintain cooperation in creating an energy corridor with Iran, Georgia and Russia, Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan said.

According to Armenian News Website AM, Harutyunyan made the remarks in International Energy Charter Forum, entitled “Towards a Multilateral Framework Agreement on Transit of Energy Resources.”

He urged to focus on the idea that access to energy is not a privilege, but a fundamental human right, News AM website quoted Harutyunyan as saying.

“Modern access to energy is still a problem in many parts of the world. It is necessary to diversify the transit of energy resources. And all projects related to energy resources should include the security of transit of energy supplies.”

“Armenia is ready to work in partnership with all world countries on providing transit of gas and electricity,” IRNA quoted the Armenian official as saying.
