Iran condemns Israel’s closure of Al-Aqsa mosque

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi has condemned the Israeli regime’s ‘blameworthy’ move to close al-Aqsa mosque compound to the Palestinian worshipers.

“Israel’s move to close the al-Aqsa mosque compound to the Palestinian worshipers is blameworthy and reproachable,” said Qassemi, adding the closure violates the basic principles of human rights and humanitarian law.

“In addition to its crimes, invasions and violation of the Palestinians’ human rights, the occupying regime of Israel has established a new heresy by targeting the religious freedom and rights of the Palestinian Muslims which will have dangerous consequences,” the spokesman went on to say.

According to ISNA, he called for the immediate opening of al-Aqsa Mosque compound to the Palestinian worshipers and urged all free-spirited states as well as the international community to put pressure on Israel to observe the basic rights of the Palestinians in the occupied territories.
