Resistance victories promise eradication of Daesh: Iranian senior official

EghtesadOnline: Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani highlighted the role of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah in fostering unity in Lebanon, saying that recent victories of Resistance Movement promise annihilation of the Zionist group of Daesh.

Talking to Al-Ahd news website on Tuesday, Shamkhani congratulated the Lebanese government and people on the 11th victory anniversary of Lebanon in the 33-day war, saying that the Islamic resistance humiliated the so-called undefeatable army of the Zionist regime and proved that the Islamic resistance can disdain the strongest armies of the world through the weapon of faith and Jihad whenever it wants, according to IRNA.

The 33-day war started on July 12, 2006 with Israel's aggression on Lebanon soil and ended with the UN Security Council resolution 1701 on August 14, 2006. The Israeli forces had to retreat from southern Lebanon.

The official also said that sincerity, honesty, bravery and foresightedness of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah is a determining factor in maintaining unity, security and stability in Lebanon.

He further noted that Hezbollah’s victory during the 33-day war was inspiring for the Palestinian nation and resistance groups, especially in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah in the fight against Takfiri terrorists managed to prevent extremist and terrorist groups’ infiltration into Lebanon and deal severe blows to them, he said.

Referring to the recent operation in Arsal Heights, Shamkhani said that the operations revealed that Hezbollah is serious in clearing the border region from the filthy terrorists and uses all in power to boost Lebanon’s security in Syrian border

The Iranian official further noted that Hezbollah managed to end the ‘sedition of terrorism’ in the country.

He also reaffirmed Iran’s support to the country’s standing in the frontline for fighting terrorism.

Criticizing US double-standard approaches in fighting terrorism, Shamkhani said that US helicopters have on several occasions landed in Daesh-held areas and US planes have targeted popular forces in the vicinity of the Syrian borders.

US double standard policies regarding terrorism reject its claims on fighting terrorism and Washington policies have proved that the country is the major sponsor of terrorism in the region, he said.
