“Having successfully tested the scheme with satisfactory results, SSO has decided to offer online services with the assistance of 10 representative offices located in the east and west of the capital,” an official at the organization, Ali Moayeri, was quoted as saying by CITNA.
As of June 2, 10 SSO representative offices have been offering e-services to customers.
The need to provide easy access to services has prompted SSO to tap online solutions to enable users to register for paper insurance books, renew subscriptions and online payment of fees. Applicants may visit Tamin.ir to browse the service categories offered online, Financial Tribune reported.
Technological developments have had their due impact on healthcare services; Social Security Organization, the largest insurance firm offering health services in the country, had previously put forward a scheme to produce digital health cards—a plan facing various obstacles and non-operational for the time being as the required infrastructures have not been developed yet.
SSO has also tried to switch to electronic prescriptions. According to an official with the organization, introducing electronic prescriptions is another plan initiated by the SSO since August 2016 to facilitate healthcare procedures for the 42 million Iranians insured by the firm.
Currently going through a pilot phase, Majid Sadeghi-Raad says that more than 370 SSO centers issue e-prescriptions. According to him, 80 million electronic prescriptions have been issued so far.
