One of the two startups is ‘Pelak’, which according to its website, offers home and car services through a single platform.
Through its website Pelak.ir, the startup offers everything from fixing air conditioners and leaking pipes to auto maintenance and washing cars.
After selecting the service of choice, users indicate their location by dropping a pin on Pelak’s interactive map. The firm then calculates the cost of the service and informs the customer before dispatching servicemen.
The services can also be accessed via Pelak’s application available for download on the startup’s website. So far, the app has been downloaded more than 10,000 times. For now, the services are available only in Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, and Shiraz.
Another startup ‘Pulsein’ offers similar services through an Android app in Tehran. The application is available for download on local Android market Cafe Bazaar. Pulsein brings cleaning and repair services to the doorstep with a similar procedure.
Unlike Pelak and Pulsein most Iranian online firms focus on a single service. For instance startups like Ostadkar, Achareh, Cleanx, and Sanjaq only offer home repair services while others like Carboy, Nano Pak and Gallon focus on auto services.
