During the meeting held in the presidential palace, they discussed close relations between the two governments, the peace process “owned and led” by the Afghans and the better use of Chabahar Port in southeastern Iran, ISNA reported.
Araqchi also briefed Ghani on recent negotiations between Iranian officials and Taliban representatives in Tehran, assuring him of Iran’s commitment to Afghanistan’s leadership of the peace process.
A delegation of Taliban representatives visited Tehran last Sunday and held wide-ranging talks with Araqchi, according to Financial Tribune.
The two sides also agreed to improve coordination to restore peace and stability to Afghanistan.
