Iran Aluminum Output Tops 260,000 Tons

EghtesadOnline: The output of Iran's major aluminum producers stood at an aggregate of 267,053 tons during the 10 months to Jan. 20, which indicates a 5% decline compared with last year's corresponding period, the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported.

Flagship producer Iran Aluminum Company accounted for 145,250 tons of the total figure, registering a 2% growth year-on-year, followed by Hormozal Aluminum Company with 73,090 tons, down 17% YOY, and Almahdi Aluminum Company with 48,713 tons, up 4% YOY.

Aluminum production during the month to Jan. 20 stood at 18,036 tons to witness a fall of 38% YOY.

Iran Alumina Company produced 195,918 tons of alumina powder from March 21 to Jan. 20, down 3% YOY, Financial Tribune reported.

Alumina powder output in month to Jan. 20 amounted to 20,714 tons, up by 1% compared with last year’s corresponding period.

Iran has a current aluminum nameplate capacity of 457,000 tons per year, of which about 437,000 tons are operational, Metal Bulletin reported.

The country is planning to increase annual production to 1.5 million tons by 2025.
