Iran, Russia Tech Firms Sign €2m Deal

EghtesadOnline: An Iranian knowledge-based company has signed a €2 million deal with a Russian company, during the 15th International Aviation and Space Salon (also known as 2019 MAKS Air Show).

According to the website of Iran National Innovation Fund, 12 knowledge-based companies specializing in aviation and space technology were financed to participate in the event held in the city of Zhukovsky from Aug. 27 to Sept. 1.

Yaser Arabnia, an official with INIF, told reporters that one of the domestic companies reached an agreement with a Russian firm for the export of technological products.

"The joint production of several related products was also discussed with Russian companies," Financial Tribune quoted Arabnia as saying.

Commercial ties with the target market in Russia are expected to expand once the agreements become operational.

Iran's knowledge-based companies took part in 2019 MAKS in two booths and a pavilion jointly set up by the Vice Presidential Office for Science and Technology and INIF.

“During the exhibition, the Iranian aviation enterprises displayed civil products and services,” said Davoud Najafi, the director for trade and international affairs of Iranian Aeronautical Industry Organization.

"The products we presented at MAKS included helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and training aircraft. This is the second time in a row that we are participating in the exhibition in Russia. We are pleased to present the capabilities of our aviation industry and discuss prospects of cooperation."

Services of Iranian organizations specialized in the maintenance and repair of civil aircraft, their units and systems were also showcased.

"We independently satisfy the needs of our civil aviation industry in all types of work, including maintenance and repair. For this purpose, we have mastered modern technologies for the production of aviation components and spare parts," Najafi said.
