10MW Mobile Power Plant Ready for Synchronization

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s largest mobile power plant will be linked to the national grid next month, the deputy for supervisory affairs at the National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company of Iran (Abfa) said.

“The 10MW power plant will provide electricity to the water and wastewater industries during emergencies and natural disasters like earthquake or floods,” the Energy Ministry news portal Paven quoted Hamidreza Kashfi as saying.

The modular portable power plant has five trailers, four of which are equipped with generators, each with a capacity of 2.5 MW. One trailer carries an electrical substation.

For the first time in the country, Abfa experts designed the transformer and substation, which can provide different voltages and was produced by domestic companies, according to Financial Tribune.

Mobile turbines produce significantly less emissions, are used in emergency conditions and help supply power to remote regions in time of need.

The plant will be stationed at the Abfa Crisis Management Support central headquarters in Isfahan Province and can be moved soon to other parts of the country.
