“Iran Renewable Energy Association will hold the fourth edition of the event that focuses on Iran's potential for renewable energy and features discussions on how to increase incentives for investing in renewable energy,” ISNA quoted Seyed Moslem Mousavi as saying.
ISA is an alliance of 121 countries initiated by and headquartered in India. The primary objective of the organization is to work for efficient exploitation of solar energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
“The alliance has allocated about $3 billion this year to develop solar energy worldwide, and according to programs the visiting high-level ISA delegation will present a plan to develop solar energy in Iran,” Financial Tribune quoted Mousavi as saying.
The plan will include financing production of 500 megawatts of solar energy and creating jobs for 10,000 people in the gradually evolving sector.
India, with the support of France, has invited nations to facilitate and expand infrastructure for solar projects. The alliance is committed to making the cost of solar power more affordable in remote and inaccessible areas. Member countries have been urged to support each other in R&D and other relevant sectors.
Iran REC 2019
Iran REC 2019 agenda includes opportunities for international cooperation in renewables and renewable energy export to neighboring countries, localization of solar and wind power plants equipment, new methods of financing solar and wind power plants, quality and standards of renewable energy equipment, responding to challenges of policymaking and investment for renewable projects and subsidizing energy carriers.
The event is expected to attract 700 participants from 30 countries.
This year’s meeting focuses on solar panels, solar inverters and wind turbines. Outstanding achievements and developments will be honored with the ‘Iran Renewable Energy Award’ for the first time.

Following increasing power demand and need for sustainable energy security, the government and policy makers are understandably showing increasing interest in renewable power and its benefits.
Iran meets more than 80% of its electricity demand from thermal power plants that run on fossil fuels. Of the total 81,000 MW capacity, 724 MW comes from renewables.
According to Energy Ministry data, green energy data show 44% renewable power is from solar, 40% wind power, 13% small hydroelectric plants, 2% geothermal and 1% biomass.
The government said recently that it has plans to raise the share of renewables to 5,000 MW by 2022.
