LPG Shipment to China on Track

EghtesadOnline :Iranian LPG shipments to China were on track in November.

Trader estimates for cargo loading from Iran bound for China in November generally range between seven and 10. Sources estimate Iran loaded at least10 cargoes for export in October, ISNA reported. Each Iranian LPG cargo typically carries 44,000 million tons and is a mix of propane and butane. In addition to the new US sanctions imposed in November of last year, market sources say the decline is due to technical issues and regular maintenance shutdowns at Iranian refineries. Partial maintenance is underway or scheduled for the current quarter and in 2020 at Bandar Abbas, Tehran, Imam Khomeini, Isfahan and Lavan refineries. Operations at the major Abadan Oil Refinery were not impacted by a small fire in its oil waste unit on October 27, the wire service reported. The refinery, Iran's oldest, is currently in expansion phase. Tehran refinery began annual overhaul in mid-October to improve safety at refining units and conduct repairs at atmospheric distillation units, the Oil Ministry’s news portal reported. The northern part of the 250,000 bpd refinery was shut for a month for repairs after all the northern and some southern units put out of service for eight days from October 18 to fix connectivity issues and adjust the flare route, Shana reported. LPG loadings from Iran hit 568,000 million tons in October 2018, the highest since previous international sanctions over its nuclear plan were lifted in January 2016, according to Financial Tribune.
