Specialized Judicial Centers to Handle Commercial Disputes

EghtesadOnline: A specialized judicial center will be launched in Tehran within the next three months for resolving commercial disputes, says the head of the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's Business Environment Study and Monitoring Center.

“We intend to launch complexes in other provinces similar to the one in Tehran. We believe businesspeople should not be compelled to enter courts where all sorts of crimes are prosecuted, since commercial disputes are of a totally different nature,” Ali Firouzi was quoted as saying by ILNA.

The official noted that these specialized judicial complexes are being set up for trade and commercial cases to be resolved by judges who have a thorough knowledge and understanding of commercial regulations and legal disputes.

“We also aim to elevate Iran’s ranking in the global ease of doing business index.”

Firouzi said judges in these specialized judicial complexes will be assisted by commercial advisors so legal disputes can be settled as fairly, accurately and promptly as possible.
