Tehran Stocks Shaky, But End With Gains

EghtesadOnline: Tehran Stock Exchange closed in positive territory Tuesday despite many large-cap shares traded lower as the TSE’s benchmark toiled to break past the 2-million-point milestone.

Stocks began trading session on a high note, gaining more than 30,000 points in the early hours before losing ground later as sell-off pressure mounted. 

The TSE closed session 7,221 points, or 0.37%, higher to stand at 1,941,157 points. 

About 13.64 billion shares valued at 231.46 trillion rials ($1.13 billion) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Bama Mining Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 8.89% to 326,060 rials per share.

Petrochemical Industries Investment Group Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 13.35% to 23,370 rials per share.

Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Iran Khodro Company and National Iranian Copper Industries Company.

Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company, Ghadir Investment Company and Tehran Oil Refining Company.

 

IFX Up 0.42%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 83.36 points, or 0.42%, to close Tuesday trade at 19,982.04.

About 2.96 billion securities valued at 105.37 trillion rials ($514.01 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.

Jahrom Power Plant Development Company had the highest number of traded shares as 164.4 million of its shares worth 1.38 trillion rials ($6.73m) were traded.

Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Marun Petrochemical Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company and Iran Fara Bourse had the most negative impact on IFX. 

Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Esfahan Steel Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company and Day Bank.
