“Of the total number of complaints, 18,779 [84.8%] pertained to goods and the remaining 3,127 [14%] to services,” Abbas Tabesh was also quoted as saying by IRNA, referring to data provided by the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade.
"About 69% of the complaints filed over the month have so far been processed and the rest are awaiting the expert opinion or legal inquiry," he added.
Tabesh noted that most of the complaints against providers of goods pertained to bread and chicken.
Auto repair shops and real estates accounted for a majority of the complaints against service centers.
Most people complained of profiteering and fraud.
“Some 65% of the complaints came through via phone calls, 18% in person and 17% in letters,” he said.
Iranian citizens have been asked to file complaints against businesses via the hotline 124.
