MSC Breaks Ground on New CRC Plant

EghtesadOnline: Amir Kabir Steel Company, a subsidiary of Mobarakeh Steel Company, broke ground on a new cold-rolled coil plant as well as the expansion project of an acid-washing unit in Kashan, Isfahan Province, on Wednesday.

The ceremony was attended by Khodadad Gharibpour, the chairman of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Isfahan Governor General Abbas and MSC’s CEO Hamidreza Azimian, IMIDRO reported.

The new plant is expected to produce 250,000 tons of CRC per year, bringing Amir Kabir Steel Company’s annual output to 500,000 tons.

The acid-washing unit will also increase annual pickling capacity from 300,000 tons to 500,000 tons.

In line with the expansion plans, Amir Kabir Steel Company is also planning to build its second galvanized coil production plant and a grinding unit as well.

The projects will be implemented with an estimated investment of €12 million plus 3.7 trillion rials ($15.3 million).

The new units are expected to create 1,080 direct and indirect jobs.

Amir Kabir Steel Company produces galvanized, cold rolled and annealed sheets and coils.
