'Health & Treatment' Inflation at 23.6%

EghtesadOnline: The average goods and services Consumer Price Index of "health and treatment" among 12 groups of the basket of consumer goods and services purchased by households increased by 23.6% in the 12-month period ending Sept. 21, which marks the end of the sixth Iranian month, compared with last year’s corresponding period.

According to the Statistical Center of Iran, the CPI of the group stood at 198.4 in the month, indicating a 2.2% increase compared with the previous month. 

The index, with a coefficient of 7.14%, registered an increase of 25.9% compared with the similar month of last year. 

Iran's overall average goods and services Consumer Price Index in the 12-month period ending Sept. 21 increased by 26% compared with the corresponding period of last year. 

SCI had put the average annual inflation rate for the preceding Iranian month that ended on Aug. 21 at 25.8%. 

The consumer inflation for the month under review (Aug. 22-Sept. 21) registered an increase of 34.4% compared with the similar month of the previous Iranian year. The year-on-year inflation of the month ending Aug. 21 was 30.4%. 

The overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 244.3 last month, indicating a 3.6% rise compared with the month before. Month-on-month consumer inflation was 3.5% for the preceding month (July 22-Aug. 21.)

SCI put average annual inflation for urban and rural areas at 26.1% and 25.4%, respectively. 

CPI registered a year-on-year increase of 34.5% for urban areas and 34.1% for rural areas in the month ending Sept. 21. 

The overall CPI reached 243.1 for urban households and 251 for rural households, indicating a month-on-month increase of 3.6% and 3.5% for urban and rural areas, respectively.
