“In recent years Petco has strived to develop products in accordance with the API 610 standard,” Ali Shirzadegan was quoted as saying by ILNA.
The standard, defined by American Petroleum Institute, relates primarily to centrifugal pumps and centrifugal pumping systems. It provides design criteria for the actual centrifugal pump, as well as how the pump is to be tested, and the type of base it is mounted on.
Located in Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Province, Petco employs experts in hydraulics, mechanical design, package design, metallurgy, electricity, electronics, instrumentation, R&D and technology. They have acquired know-how in different fields from foreign companies and use them to manufacture various types of pumps that are used in refineries and petrochemical plants across Iran, Shirzadegan added.
Petco was founded by the state-run Iranian Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) in 1998 and is a subsidiary of the Sadid Industrial Group.
It produces specific pumps to meet the requirements of refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, water/oil pump stations, power and water treatment plants as well as small and medium water turbines.
Goureh-Jask Oil Pipeline
It is also involved in the Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project and “has designed 10 BB3 type pumps for the megaproject.”
According to reports, the first phase of the pipeline will come on stream by the end of the current Persian calendar year in March 2021.
The phase entails operation of pump houses No. 2 and 4, receiving stations 1 and 2, pigging, as well as the final terminal.
Testing pumping houses as well as the final terminal will start in December and end in early February, and the first phase will transfer 350,000 barrels of crude oil. So far, the phase has made 70% physical progress.
The Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline project includes construction of a 1,000-kilometer pipeline to move 1 million barrels of oil a day from the West Karoun region to Jask, off the Sea of Oman.
Work on the project began last summer and is expected to be finished by 2022. In less than two years, light, heavy and ultra-heavy crude oil will be transferred from Goureh oil terminal in Bushehr Province to Jask Port in Hormozgan Province.
The project includes construction of 20 oil storage facilities, pumping stations and an oil export terminal. When ready, Jask Oil Terminal will store up to 30 million barrels of oil and export one million barrels per day.
